Visited one last venue today... Was curious and excited how the my impression of the place would be as I heard pretty good things about it. After waiting for two weeks, we finally managed to get hold of someone from NLB and got to view the pod at last. (aka the place PM gave his national day rally speech) This place is... nice. Really really really nice. From the 16th floor of NLB, there's an almost breathtaking view of Singapore. (Almost as we viewed it early in the morning. But I'm definitely convinced that the night view would take my breath away.)
Damnit, dilemma lah. Unsure of which of the two location we should choose. Sigh.. what a headache..Unlike the previous comparisons where we would choose arts house over everything, we were unable to make a decision of which venue we want. Both venues have their respective pros and cons and both venues are just as impressive. Interestingly, both venues have the potential for very different atmosphere. Comparatively, Arts House gives a warm and cosy feel, while Pod gives a cool and 'glam' feel.
What a tough decision....
Anyway.. we made up our mind after some struggles...
I hope we made the right choice... hee...

1.2 Our Wedding.. - Venue Viewing..
Hee... went venue viewing today!
First to Arts House, followed by Singapore Arts Museum...
Fell totally in love with the rooms (Gallery & Living Room) in Arts House (Better known as the Old parliament House). Fits our wedding concept brilliantly.. just like a hand in a glove. Just standing there, I could almost visualize hosting a party there.. Mingling around with friends, holding a wine glass in a pretty cocktail dress. Just like the way we wanted it to be.... Perfect.
Unfortunately, prices ain't exactly very pocket-friendly and availability could be an issue. In addition, they have official in-house catering, and any external caterers will cause us to incur some costs... =(
Anyway, with ultra high expectations (set by Arts house), we popped over to SAM shortly after.
Beautiful courtyard and Glass house. (not so keen about the atrium as it used to be a chapel.. gives the feeling of a church wedding..) Rental rates are more reasonable and availability is not an issue as yet. But still, Arts house has already wow-ed my heart away... And sadly, SAM doesn't seem to impress me as much as arts house did... Oh, but the courtyard at SAM is really pretty, definitely one of the places I wanna take my wedding photos at (that's if I decide to sign up any packages lah)
LOl..oops, seems like I'm pretty biased towards what I want... but shall try to remain open-minded.. Time to fix up appointments for other venues too!

Supper with the bitches...
My favourite pastime recently is spending time with two of my induction mates - Jean and Alicia... Funniest, meanest (trust me, we do get really nasty at times...), most candid and oh, manly girls I come to know recently... Totally in love with them right now... LOL...
Gossip sessions that reduce karma to an infinite low are our common interest..
Really enjoy talking to them. Being in the same organization and having job scopes that are pretty much the same, suffering under the mean hands (read: incompetent) of different bosses and having almost no social life (okay, maybe it's just me) sets the platform for countless topics for the three bitches to bitch about. LOL..
Sadly, with our really really awful schedules, the only possible time we can arrange to meet is for supper.. (darn, thinking of the consequences that comes with supper.. but again, guess it's worth it!) And best of all, we would hang out till late, erm, early.. (Got home at only after 5am today) Definitely the best way to prevent burnout at a shitty job like this..
Wonder how long this fire will last..
But at least for now, i totally adore them!

Crazy KeY at work...
Did a couple of insane things today...
Fixed up a blading session with some of the bball gang at ECP. When we arrived at ECP, the weather was cloudy, but ain't raining as yet. Waited a while for the whole grp to arrive and before we knew, it started drizzling. Damn. Anyway, decided to proceed with blading anyway since most of the gang came a long way from the far west of Singapore, and of cos, all of us silently hoping that the rain won't last too long...
Ya right. The fucking rain not only lasted loooong, it got heavily by the minute. And while we were at the far end of ECP, it started raining cats and dogs... Lucky huh. Managed to get shelter in one of the pavillions. But insanely, a couple of the bladers wanted to get their money's worth and decided to blade on in the heavy rain. LOL, and I followed suit. Definitely one of the craziest things I did in a long while - blading at relatively high speed on a slippery road at ECP in heavy rain -totally drenched from head to toes. Honestly, it made me feel young (feels like I'm back in my crazy JC days). Afterall, haven't really had any opportunity to do anything so crazy and fun.
Of cos, felt damn disgusting after taking off my blades... My poor blades are soaked and I'm dripping wet... LoL.. but it was fun nonetheless.. (wonder if the rest felt the same..=P)
Anyway, invited the gang over to my place (which was supposingly the closest to ECP compared to the rest) for a shower and headed to Chomp Chomp for dinner.
Crowded as usual and took us a while before we finally spotted a family who was 60% done with dinner. So the group of 7 of us stood beside the family and waited for about ten minutes. Out of nowhere came an auntie who pretended not to see us (erm, her eyesight muz be really bad since there were not 1 but 7 of us) and stood behind the family. Once the family stood up, she hurriedly ran in front of my friend and put her bag down.
What a bitch.
Hungry and pissed with her disgusting act, I couldn't help but spoke up for us.
KeY: (rather loudly) "AUNTIE, 我们先来的leh"
Auntie: “不用那么大声。 我听的到的。”
Picking up her bag, she moved off and continued mumbling: “你很有礼貌lor"
K: "是吗？ 谢谢 hor"
Auntie: Glaring at me and walking away... mumbling... “你很有礼貌lor"
Whatever. The fact that she moved off simply after my comment goes to show that she knew that she was in the wrong and just wanted to try her luck at whether we were pushovers. Unfortunately not. I bet her kids were embarrassed by her act (I know I would definitely be if she's my mom. In fact, I wouldn't even let her carry out the act in the first place) as they stood a distance away and didn't even come up to her 'rescue' during the whole commotion. Such an unnecessary encounter...
Totally disgusted by how ungracious Singaporeans came be (okay, maybe not all, but a handful and that is bad enough).
Anyway, don't expect me to be nice and polite when you step on my toes.

Yap, wedding bells are ringing! Actual date isn't fixed as yet as usual (still needa go 'count' our eight characters before selecting "THE DAY".) But if nothing goes wrong, it should be somewhere during the 4th quarter of 2008 or 1st quarter of 2009.. (LOL, not really helpful I know...but that's about all I can confirm for now)
Honestly, planning for a wedding is so much more tedious and frustrating than I thought. Not as enjoyable as I expected, especially when you need to consider budgets and family expectations.. (thank god both our families are easy-going..) Oh well, I'll get through this!

- Just a simple lunch reception for relatives to announce our marriage and ... a simple chill out/cocktail party with a small (is a hundred people considered small?) group of close friends.
